The old man leap from his bed and landed a kick square in my chest. I stumbled backward and barely evaded a karate chop, which would've no doubt ended me there. I rolled back and took out the gun. The old man charged. I steadied my arm, looked the devil in the eye and fired. At the last moment Harlan jumped up so that the bullet grazed his ankle. He landed behind me grabbed me head... blackness.
